Central Chesterfield Little League (CCLL) will hold Player Assessments on Saturday, February 21 at Ironbridge Sports Park, located at:
11400 Iron Bridge Rd, Chester, VA 23831
Please note there has been a slight adjustment to the assessment schedule from what was previously communicated during registration. Families are encouraged to review the updated times below carefully.
Player assessments are an important part of preseason preparation and help ensure balanced teams and appropriate placement across divisions for the upcoming spring baseball season.
Who Must Attend CCLL Player Assessments
Player Assessments are required for:
The following divisions do not need to attend:
-
Buddy Ball
-
Tee Ball
-
Rookie
(Unless a player is requesting to assess up into the Coach Pitch division.)
Current waitlists exist due to the need for additional volunteer managers to form teams. Central Chesterfield Little League’s goal is for every child who wants to play baseball to have that opportunity.
Interested in becoming a manager? Register as a volunteer at ccllbaseball.com.
Although the schedule is organized by age, families must attend strictly during their assigned age timeframe, even if they believe their player may move up or down a division. Coaches from multiple divisions will be present and will provide recommendations using CCLL’s official assessment scoring system.

-
Players should not attend multiple assessment sessions.
-
CCLL aggregates and compares assessment scores across age groups.
-
If a player is being considered to move up or down a division, placement decisions will be made using:
-
The single completed assessment
-
Coach evaluations and scoring data
-
Comparisons with other players
-
Player enrollment numbers and team availability
Attending additional sessions does not improve placement chances and is not necessary.

Assessing Up or Down a Division
Players requesting to assess up or down a division should notify league staff during check-in.
Please understand that placement requests cannot be guaranteed. Final decisions are based on assessment results, enrollment numbers, and coach availability. All determinations are made by the CCLL Board using complete assessment data.
Unable to Attend Assessments?
If your player is unable to attend on February 21 and you would like them drafted by name instead of as a hat pick, please contact:

Video assessments are optional. Players who do not attend and do not submit a video will be entered into the draft as hat picks and placed on a team (if not currently on a waitlist).
